We love living in Ossining. We especially love being a part of the community. So, we make an effort to take advantage of all the fun community events. Like tonight’s tree lighting ceremony in the town square. I remember going to a similar event in Pearl River (where I grew up) and it’s one of my favorite holiday memories. The Ossining event didn’t quite live up to the one in Pearl River, but hopefully it will become a treasured memory for Miss Margot, too. And hopefully the event will continue to grow as the years go by, since this was only the second annual tree lighting.
After enjoying some hot apple cider and singing along to some Christmas Carols, the switch was flipped and behold! The glorious tree!
Santa also rode through town on his trusty firetruck and posed for some photos with the kiddies. Since Margot was sleeping (and is only 1 1/2 months old…) we decided to skip the line for Santy Claus, and just hung out by the Christmas tree for a bit.
All in all, it was a pretty great start to Margot’s first Holiday Season, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event, when hopefully Margot will be a bit more excited about it all.
